Counseling for children, teens, young adults and families

Individual therapy for youth

I support and guide youth as they learn how to manage emotions and stress, practice healthy boundaries and feel more comfortable being themselves. I will listen closely to your son or daughter and offer support, validation and humor. I will also encourage them to consider other perspectives, take responsibility, set goals and envision their future. Individual therapy is often more effective when family members are engaged in the process of change as well.

Family therapy and parenting support

As a mother, I understand the depth and beauty of unconditional love and endless challenges and rewards of parenting. I enjoy getting to know families and helping them address concerns, improve communication and increase harmony in their households. A new story is possible when families work together to resolve issues, reconnect and repair trust.

Collaborative Problem Solving

During family therapy we will use the Collaborative Problem Solving approach to improve communication and find solutions to ongoing challenges. Collaborative Problem Solving is an evidence-based method that will strengthen your teen’s ability to express feelings, concerns and needs and solve problems more effectively. Continuous use of this method will also improve your relationship with your teen. It's never too late to increase connection in your family!

Art Therapy

Art Therapy allows people to process adverse experiences and share feelings, thoughts and memories that are difficult to express in words. Making art reduces stress and helps with remaining present in the moment. During family therapy sessions, Art Therapy supports positive interactions and the revision of family stories. Artistic talent is not necessary and stick figures are welcome!
